Approach

Stephanie Legendre is a dedicated therapist with a focus on emotional regulation,  personality development, and healing inner child wounds throughout the lifespan. With over 17 years of experience in the field, Stephanie has had the opportunity to work with many different populations.  Her direct, compassionate approach gets to the core of the problem, so you are not spending years in therapy.

Stephanie utilizes a variety of evidence-based modalities tailored to each individual’s unique needs, and personality including Psychodynamic therapy, EMDR, Internal Family Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Play therapy, Mindfulness-Based Meditation, Brainspotting, and Neurofeedback LENS.

Specialty Area: Children

 Through her work in an inpatient adult hospital setting, she noticed that many individuals struggled with adverse childhood experiences, rejection, and trauma.  This inspired her to gain her RPT-S (Registered Play Therapist Supervisor) which gave her an extensive background in child development. Observing that every child, parent, and individual client had different personalities and perceptions of the world she began to tailor her therapy approach to personality development and understanding. Stephanie has presented on strong-willed children, sensitive, and gifted and talented children for parents and professionals.

Stephanie’s direct and tailored approach also helps her work with separated or divorced parents to navigate challenges and develop effective strategies to prioritize the well-being of their children.

Additionally, Stephanie Legendre specializes in understanding and healing inner child wounds in adults. She recognizes that unresolved childhood traumas can manifest in adulthood as emotional challenges, relationship difficulties, and self-limiting beliefs. Through a combination of inner child work, parts work, and generational trauma therapy, Stephanie guides her clients on a transformative journey of self-discovery and healing.

Passion Projects

Beyond her clinical practice, Stephanie leads WHCC’s powerful parenting program and is passionate about advocating for children’s mental health. She regularly conducts workshops and seminars for parents, educators, and mental health professionals, sharing her expertise and insights on healthy childhood development. She also can be seen on social media (Tik Tok, FB, IG, and podcast on Spotify)  empowering parents to understand their child’s unique personality and temperament.
