Shazia Khan, LPC Associate in Katy TX
Shazia Khan, Adult Therapist, Couples Therapist, CBT

Approach

Shazia is a compassionate and skilled therapist who works extensively with individuals and couples navigating grief, regret, and shame. She is especially well-suited for clients who have lost a loved one, are adjusting to empty nesting, have ended a significant relationship, or find themselves struggling with shame or regret in their roles as adult children, partners,  caregivers, and working professionals.

At the heart of Shazia’s work is a deep respect for the inner child and the parts of us shaped by loss, unmet needs, and painful transitions. She incorporates parts work and inner child healing to help clients understand and gently transform the dynamics of shame, regret, and grief that can keep them feeling stuck. This approach is particularly meaningful for those facing major life changes, seeking deeper self-understanding, complex trauma, or wanting to reconnect with a sense of purpose and meaning.

Shazia is also highly trained in Gottman-based couples therapy. She equips couples with practical, research-informed skills while also helping them recognize how their individual histories and emotional wounds may be influencing their relationship. Her work supports couples in building connection, improving communication, and creating lasting change at both the practical and emotional levels.

Clients often describe Shazia’s style as empowering and grounding. She brings a coaching-informed energy to sessions, blending deep emotional work with actionable tools so clients feel supported, capable, and able to make progress more efficiently. Her professional experience in palliative care at Texas Children’s Hospital, combined with her personal experience as a mother of three and an empty nester, allows her to hold space with empathy and steadiness for a wide range of life experiences.

Above all, Shazia offers a non-judgmental, safe, and compassionate environment where clients feel seen, understood, and free to share their stories openly. Her goal is to help clients move through pain with care, reconnect with themselves, and step into the next chapter of their lives with clarity and confidence.

Shazia brings a culturally responsive and trauma-informed lens to her work, helping clients explore how cultural identity, family roles, and generational patterns shape their experiences of grief, shame, and self-worth. She supports clients in breaking cycles of generational trauma while honoring the values, traditions, and identities that are meaningful to them.

"In the seasons of grief, may we find solace in the rhythm of our healing journey, knowing that with each passing season, we grow stronger, more resilient, and more capable of embracing the beauty of life once more."
